Pam Furniss Quilts

About Pam Furniss

Pam Furniss

Inspiration for my many quilts comes from a diverse range of sources including the environment, graphic designs, tile work, books, magazines, greeting cards and photos. Building on and exploring the initial design is what gives me pleasure in the creative process. I have a great love for design and with the many visual inspirations leading me into the next projects, my love of patchwork and quilting will always endure.

As well as teaching regular local classes, I teach throughout Australia and overseas. I hope to continue always having this great pleasure of learning and passing on my ideas and techniques to those I teach. To get the best out of classes I always encourage the students to ask questions. No question is “silly” as you often hear said. Many of my quilts have been published in Australian magazines and two of these have been featured as front covers.

Some of my larger queen sized, hand appliquéd quilts have won prizes at the New South Wales Quilt Exhibition in Sydney and the Victorian Quilt Showcase in Melbourne.

I live in Green Point on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia.
